HOW TO WEAR SEQUINS IN THE FALL
When you
thinking of fall fashion, sequins may not be the first thing that come to mind.
You may think that they’re nearly impossible to wear in the fall time, if not
completely impossible. But I’m here today to not only prove you wrong, but also
show you how you can easily rock your sequins in the fall wherever you want to
go! Here are 4 easy tips to take away when you’re pairing your sequin clothing
piece this season.

on How to Wear Sequins in the Fall for Later!
How To Wear Sequins in
The Fall
Go Casual
My first for
how to wear sequins in the fall time is to pair them with something casual.
Autumn is the best time to bring out all of your casual looks by incorporating
textures and patterns such as suede, corduroy, and plaid!
For today’s
look, I paired the sequin skirt with a plaid top and tied it at the waist for a
fun, yet casual ensemble. As I mentioned in my post for how to wear sequins in
the summer, pairing your sequins with a casual element helps to dress them down
for an everyday outfit. This makes your sequin piece more versatile.
Wear Fall Colours with
your Sequins
Another
thing that you consider when you’re thinking of how to wear sequins in the fall
is to wear fall colours! Think wine, dark pinks, and reds for an energetic
vibe. Forest/emerald green would also work too–just think a forest green plaid
top!–as that colour looks GORGEOUS with gold. You could either go for a
colourful sweater/shirt or even accessories to keep things simple as you may
already have those items in your closet. If you want to keep things
trendy/unexpected, we can always try something like colourful tights like I did
today! If you’re worried about it going overboard…
Add in A Neutral Element
When you’re
wearing sequins, make sure to add in some neutral elements such as black boots/flats
to keep your outfit grounded. They already provide a lot of excitement so it’s
really easy to fall overboard. This should be especially easy since it’s boots
season and we all love a nice neutral boot!
Stick to One Colour
Palette
My last tip
is to stick to one colour palette when you’re wearing sequins. In my look
today, I have a neutral element (I.e. white in plaid top and black boots) and
one colour family (the pink and purple in my top that match with the tights).
The easiest way to do this is to find something a fall clothing piece with 2 or
3 colours and to match your outfit to the colours in that item. This helps to
keep your outfit look balanced and exhilarating!
Sequins can
be fun to look at and I understand how intimidating we can be to wear when
you’re not dressing up. However, they make unexpected additions into your
autumn wardrobe and I think that you should give them a try using these tips!
